Unfurling Begins

Unfurling Begins

The unfurling of the Earth has begun, even here in the mountains of Colorado. My kids were so excited to point out the young shoots that are crawling to the surface ready to feel the sun once again. We are beginning to brainstorm plans for the yard, the garden, camping and the adventure that comes with warmer weather and I love it! I feel an inner shift happening. I feel growth coming towards the surface. I have been taking time to vision and dream, to make lists and take stock of where my energy is being spent. The season of Aries, the beginning of the Zodiac calendar, which we are in until mid-April, marks a time for renewal and action.

What is it that I have been dreaming about, and how can I make this come alive? What are my high energy output areas of life, and am I finding time for rest and fun? I have been diving deep into Kate Northrup's book "Do Less" and am finding her insights to be right on the mark; wisdom that I desperately need to hear as I mother two kids, support my partner and our relationship, run a business solo and continue to dream of what is to come. I am in the process of making changes to the shop hours for the Summer months so that I can be present with my kids and the sunshine, as they are still little and time is short. I will be opening up online booking in the coming weeks for one-on-one consultations, Vaginal Steaming sessions, Ceremony work and more! I will be at the Farmers Market this Summer as well, adding more crafting so you can stop by and make something herbal and lovely, more of my homemade goods and more community love! As always, thank you for you support, this work is my life force and I am so honored to share it with you. To Cleanse or Not to Cleanse? This is the season for the Cleanse questions, and holy cow there are many!

I am a gentle cleanser myself. I tend to focus on a particular organ system or function, and this time of year is great for kidney and liver love. I don't go extreme, my body doesn't respond well to extreme, and I keep it simple because over-complicating = high anxiety for me.

One of my favorite cleanse pairings for the liver adapted by a recipe from Rosemary Gladstar is... AM :

- Juice of one organic orange

- Juice of one organic lemon

- 5-6 springs of organic parsley

- 1 whole organic garlic clove

- 1-2 TBS organic Olive Oil

Blend like a smoothie, it will become nice and frothy, drink with your morning meal (I find that drinking right before my breakfast makes the garlic easier to digest).

Follow this with a warm cup of Tisane or herbal tea made of: - 1 part Peppermint - 1 part Comfrey leaf - 1/2 part Fenugreek seed - 1.5 tsp per cup or 2 TBS per quart of hot water off the boil. Steep for at least 10 minutes.

I make a quart jar of this tea and sip it throughout the day. Drink these bevy's for a week to 10 days and feel your body lighten and brighten. This Herbal Tea is available at the shop You can also join a cleanse community which I highly recommend for added support. Please reply to thiis email if you would like to discuss an herbal cleanse program or seek community support, I would be happy to consult and/or resource for you! ***Learn more about the art of crafting herbal teas or Tisanes with me at the Elkstone Community Apothecary class this summer!
