Spring Air

Spring Air

The Spring Equinox / Ostara is only a couple of weeks away falling on March 20th. Here in the mountains we are bound to have snow for some time, and this dreamy Pisces season always brings to me the longing for seedlings and bird songs. The closing of the door on Winter is such a blessed time for me. I love the unfurling that happens as buds begin to form, green hues beckon and the warmth of the Springtime Sun reveals cyclical shift taking place. Can you relate? Seasonal shifts can be abrupt and can challenge how we integrate ourselves into the flow; our patterns and rhythms take on a new energy as daily light becomes more abundant. Maybe we really enjoyed the cocoon that Winter held us in and may not be quite ready for the emergence of Spring / Movement / Air. Here we are in the flux of alignment, the awakening of the frozen world, being witness to Earth-birth!

Tend to your needs just a you would to the seedling unfurling beneath the soil. Remember to rest.

Dream up big, huge dreams and declare what it is that you truly wish to attain, this is the Season for germinating and preparing for growth! So what's the difference between Tea and herbal tea? I get asked this question a lot...so in a nutshell... Tea (black, green, white, oolong, pu erh, etc) comes from one plant - Camellia sinensis - while Herbal teas - tisanes - come from many plants. Most of the time tisanes are un-caffeinated while Tea has caffeine. I handcraft a multitude of tisanes and also carry varieties of Tea in the shop. You can also purchase my tisane brews on Etsy! ***Learn more about the art of crafting herbal teas or tisanes with me at the Elkstone Community Apothecary class this summer!*** As a reminder, I am not a licensed medical professional.
